W+H Upper School students Youran Wang ’22, Silvia Xia ’20 and Leo Song ’21, pictured with Mr. Mark Donagy (Math Department Chair), posted impressive scores on the AMC 10A and AMC 12A exams and have qualified to take the American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME).
The cutoff scores were 87.0 for the AMC 12A and 103.5 for the AMC 10A. Leo and Silvia surpassed that mark in the AMC 12A and Youran reached the standard in the AMC 10A.
“In the nine years that I have been teaching at Wardlaw+Hartridge, we have only had one other person to qualify to take the AIME,” Mr. Donaghy said.
The students will take the AIME Exam on March 11 at Wardlaw+Hartridge.
