Planned Giving
Over the years, The Wardlaw+Hartridge School has benefited from the generous individuals and families who have seen the school's goals as their own.
These benefactors understand the importance of our mission. Through their commitment to Wardlaw+Hartridge, they have helped strengthen the foundation that we are able to provide for our students. More than 45 members of the Wardlaw+Hartridge community have included the school in their estate plans in some way, joining The Heritage Society, which recognizes those individuals who have informed the school of their planned gift.
MAKE A GIFT THAT COSTS NOTHING DURING YOUR LIFETIME.
There are numerous tools available which enable you to leverage the financial, personal and social dimensions of your wealth to achieve your dreams and leave your lifeprints on the people and organizations you cherish. For example:
A gift in your will – Look at some approaches that have worked for alumni and friends of the school, complete with sample bequest language.
Giving with retirement plans - Make a gift without changing your will by including Wardlaw+Hartridge in your IRA or 401(k) plan. Speak to your plan administrator or financial advisor to learn how.
Charitable Remainder Trust - Countless families have used charitable remainder trusts (CRTs) to increase their income, save taxes, and benefit charities. A CRT lets you convert highly appreciated assets like stocks or real estate into lifetime income.
The other benefits this type of trust offers include the following:
• Reduce your income taxes
• Reduce or eliminate your estate taxes
• Pay no capital gains tax when the asset is sold
• Benefit one or more charities
• Receive more income over your lifetime than if you had sold the asset yourself
• Gain protection from creditors if you gift the asset
• Leave more to your heirs by using a life insurance trust to replace the gifted asset
If you think a charitable remainder trust would be of value to you and your family, speak with an estate planning attorney experienced in CRTs.
Please remember The Wardlaw+Hartridge School in your estate plans...and please tell us so that we may thank you.
