Middle School Runners Soar at GMC Meet

The Middle School cross country teams continued their fabulous seasons at the GMC Championships at Thompson Park on October 23. Eleven Rams earned individual medals and the W+H girls’ varsity team made school history by claiming the third-place team trophy.

Charlotte Szczubelek ’26 led the W+H girls by finishing fourth overall on the 1.5-mile course. Varsity teammates Duaa Noor ’27, Sabela Malki ’26, Braelyn Brandl ’26 and Shweta Saravanan ’28 also earned medals for placing in the top 50 and scored points to elevate the team into third place. Jayda Richter ’27 and Mohisha Jha ’26 rounded out the varsity top seven.

Aidan Murphy ’27 and Ryan Maciorowski ’26 finished in the top 20 in the boys’ varsity race and earned medals.

Four W+H girls also received medals for their performance in the novice race – Anousheh Nazir ’28, Gabby Silver ’26, Julia Gonnella ’29 and Alexa Hsu ’28.

The Rams were set to conclude their season today in the Pumpkin Run at Gill St. Bernard’s School.
