Showing Up for Success: Partnering to Engage Every Learner
Christine Cerminaro

As we begin a new school year at The Wardlaw+Hartridge School, I am honored to step into the role of Interim Head of Upper School. Having been part of this community for many years, I see Wardlaw+Hartridge not just as a place where I work; it is where my family has grown and thrived. My son, Douglas Cerminaro, Class of 2014, is a proud graduate, and this summer our family celebrated his wedding. Some of his classmates, former teachers and W+H friends shared in the celebration. These milestones remind me of the lasting impact this school has on all of us, both in the classroom and beyond.

One of the great strengths of Wardlaw+Hartridge is the way we partner with families in our community. Students, parents and faculty come together to support learning and success. I believe deeply in that partnership, and I look forward to working closely with all of you this year to continue shaping an engaging and nurturing learning environment in our Upper School.

My focus this year will be on strengthening student engagement by reinforcing our attendance policy. Consistent presence in the classroom is the foundation for meaningful learning and community participation. Alongside this, we will continue to invest in our faculty through a growth-oriented teacher evaluation program, individualized professional development plans and careful reflection on AP scores.  These steps will help us refine our curriculum with academic rigor, celebrate strengths and address areas for improvement so our students are prepared for college and the challenges ahead.

We are fortunate to have a strong team of Grade Deans, including Ms. Justine Borzumato, Ms. Michelle Penny, Ms. Amy Kate Byrne, Mr. Kevin Fette and Dr. Jonathan Wilson, who will guide our students and families throughout the year. Their active participation in our academic process will bolster our partnership with students and families.

I look forward to the year ahead with optimism and excitement. Together, we will make this school year one filled with growth, collaboration and achievement.

Here’s to a positive and inspiring year at The Wardlaw+Hartridge School!
