W+H Makes Impact with MLK Food Drive

Rudy Brandl

The Wardlaw+Hartridge community came together in a big way to support a schoolwide food drive in honor of its annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Students and families in all three divisions generously donated a large variety of canned goods, cereal, oatmeal, pasta, rice, juice, peanut butter, jelly, boxed cake, brownie and cookie mix, granola bars and baby items. Students assisted in the collection and delivery of the goods.

More than 3,000 items were split between two local food pantries. Nicole Nolan, Director of Global Scholars and Community Outreach, supervised the delivery to Starfish in Plainfield. Kirstin Rogers, Advisor to the Middle School’s Student Government and Publications, monitored the collection by Hands of Hope in Edison.
