The W+H community of students, parents, faculty, alumni and friends gathered for an evening of fine food and amazing entertainment at International Family Fun Night on Feb. 6 in the AP Room. Students and parents from all three divisions participated in cultural dances and many dressed in festive attire representing cultures from around the world.
A global fashion show with representation from countries including USA, Brazil, Germany, China, India, Japan, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, Portugal, Senegal, England, Thailand and the Dominican Republic kicked off the evening in grand style. Almost half the W+H student body across all three divisions participated in IFFN performances.
Dances representing many cultures entertained the audience throughout the evening. Upper School affinity groups including the South Asian Student Alliance, Hispanic Latinx Alliance and the Black Student Alliance performed routines to celebrate the cultures they represent. Grade level group dances, including a Lower School performance and Middle and Upper School Chinese classes, also energized the crowd. This year’s finale featured a Flash Mob style presentation from students in the Performance Track of the school’s new Conservatory Program, led by Cameron Williams ’27 on piano, Kimberly Zhang ’27 on flute, and Emily O’Neill ’27, Anousheh Nazir ’27 and Jayda Richter ’27 on vocals.
Thanks to WHPA event co-chairs Youlin Tsai and Rimple Kothari, parent decoration helpers Shirnet Pessoa and Shanu Sahni and event announcer Kerry O’Neill for organizing an amazing evening of entertainment and activities. Thank you to faculty and staff members Justine Borzumato, Michelle Penny, Sharon Byrne, Maria Hinestroza, Erin Leonard and Marci Bowman, Maria Zevallos from Sage Dining Services, PAC manager Alex Nappi and student helpers from the Conservatory Production track who ran the show: Arya Gaur ’26, Devindar Virdi ’28, Sofia Romero ’26, Mohisha Jha ’26, Gianna Pessoa ’27 and Sukhmeen Kaur ’27. Members of the Class of 2026 served a delicious buffet of international delights. Proceeds from the event will support funding of the school’s prom in the spring.
