W+H Boys Off to Fast Start in Gold Division

The W+H boys’ varsity basketball team has opened the 2021 season with five consecutive victories and is off to a 6-1 start overall, including 6-0 in the GMC Gold Division. Last week’s 60-57 triumph over Timothy Christian was the closest margin for the Rams, who lost at Pennington before bouncing back with a 63-31 rout of East Brunswick Tech.

Senior big man Saleem Ibraheem ’21 posted consecutive double-doubles, with 18 points and 12 rebounds in a romp over Calvary Christian and 15 points and 11 rebounds vs. Timothy Christian. Mekhai Huey ’22 led the Rams with 19 points against Timothy Christian. Brandon McCall ’21 also netted 15 in the narrow victory. Evan Benson ’23 led four Rams in double figures with 15 in the win over East Brunswick Tech.
