W+H vocal standouts Talia Levy ’28, Arika Shah ’29 and Aanya Chaturvedi '29 loved every minute of their experience as All-Region performers. They recently performed in the Region II Chorus Festival at the Nicolas Music Center at Rutgers University, having earned this opportunity through a very competitive audition process last December.
“It was a really awesome experience!” Talia said. “All the people were so amazing but especially our director, Dr Harley Emerson, who was truly a unique and extremely talented director. It was a wonderful opportunity for me. It taught me so much and inspired me to look into similar programs in the area.”
“Regions was such a fun experience and I’m so happy that I received the opportunity to be able to be part of such a talented choir,” Arika added.
Aanya was inspired by the challenge of learning and perfecting seven songs in just 20 hours of rehearsal time over the course of three weeks to prepare for the festival.
“Regions was an amazing experience because it challenged me and helped me grow as a musician,” Aanya said. “We had to learn songs and harmonies in a short amount of time. This experience really helped me improve and become more confident after I saw what I was capable of. The environment was so supportive and overall great, and I really enjoyed Regions. I am so grateful for the opportunity!”
