Upper School students provided an outstanding evening of music at last week’s Spring Concert in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Four ensembles performed a wide range of music with several talented soloists shining during their opportunity to take center stage.
Highlights of the concert included the Concert Band’s Metamorphosis featuring a flute solo by Kimberly Zhang ’27, MadJazz’s Moonglow with a piano solo by Kartina Chen ’27, the Jazz Band’s Baile Inolvidable, a Bad Bunny piece arranged by band director Tim Burke, and the Concert Choir’s Bohemian Rhapsody with a guitar solo by Sanjana Bhardwaj ’29.
Other soloists featured at the concert include Hamilton Ji Dressel ’29 (violin), Cameron Williams ’27 (piano), Olivia Yang ’28 (clarinet), Vyom Vaidya ’27 (tenor saxophone), Mackias Ysaac ’26 (alto saxophone), Jerry He ’27 (guitar), Adit Mehta ’28 (tuba), Jackson Mannino ’28 (voice), Sofia Vidal ’29 (trombone), Mohisha Jha ’26 (narrator), Anousheh Nazir ’27 (alto), Geeta Kumar ’29 (alto), Aanya Chaturvedi ’29 (alto) and Devin Virdi ’28 (tenor).
Another highlight of the evening was the traditional presentation of roses to seniors participating in their final W+H concert. Ten amazing student artists were honored: Mohisha Jha ’26, Hannah Torres ’26, Christian Lee ’26, Arya Gaur ’26, Ishani Shah ’26, Mackias Ysaac ’26, Richard Zhang ’26, Justin Lustgarten ’26, Forrest Qiu ’26 and Sofia Romero ’26.
The show ended with fabulous Hamilton Highlights, a medley expertly conducted by Mrs. Sharon Byrne, Performing Arts Department Chair.
