Last week’s Lower School assembly featured two groups of students sharing important cultural facts with students in grades 1-5.
Four Lower School students began the assembly by sharing their cultural alphabets in a continuation of a project under the guidance of Sra. Maria Hinestroza, Lower School Spanish teacher. Chanel Brazoban ’32, Alanna Sutaria ’33, Anna Davies ’33 and Rashmin Samant ’33 shared fun facts about their cultures with references to the alphabet. Their presentation slides included food, dance, destinations, traditions, landmarks and fashion.
Part 2 of the assembly featured Upper School students Liany Maldonado ’25, Mackias Ysaac ’26, Giannalise Rodriguez ’26 and Richard Zhang ’26 sharing details of their experiences on recent W+H Global Experience trips to Mexico and Cuba. They provided interesting details of both trips, including the Cuba excursion that took place over Spring Break. Andrew Sullivan, Director of Global Experience, assisted the students in answering the many questions that the eager Lower Schoolers asked after the presentation.
