Students Enjoy Glimpse of Academic Futures in Visit Days

Rudy Brandl '83

Students in Grades 5 and 8 hit the fast forward button in their W+H experience by attending classes in the next division on the day before the Thanksgiving break.

Fifth graders met with Mrs. Kirstin Rogers, Middle School Head, in the lobby of the Berry Performing Arts Center for a quick orientation before heading to shortened classes in a variety of subjects. They visited the classrooms of Middle School math teacher Ms. Erika Del Rocco, Spanish teacher Sra. Tamica Van Dunk, Chinese teacher Ms. Alice Zhao, history teacher Mrs. Ellen Ritz, English teachers Ms. Dorri Ramati and Ms. Bess Gildersleeve, and science teacher Mrs. Andrea Barnett.

Eighth graders were greeted in the Oakwood Room by Mrs. Christine Cerminaro, Interim Upper School Head, before meeting Upper School students who served as their tour guides. They also received school branded Class of 2030 bags to carry their belongings. Upper School teachers Dr. Jonathan Wilson (history), Mrs. Justine Borzumato (science) and Ms. Michelle Penny (English) hosted abbreviated classes with engaging lessons for the eighth grade students.
