Seniors Share Stories, Insights, Advice in Speeches

Rudy Brandl

Five members of the Class of 2025 delivered Senior Speeches within the past week in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Congratulations to Tanvi Yadav ’25 (pictured), Raymond Huang ’25, Jini Looney ’25, Bianca Bellino ’25 and Luca DiGirolamo ’25 for sharing personal stories, insights and advice.

Tanvi reflected on how she’s come to appreciate the lessons her mother bestowed on her while growing up. She’s learned how to prioritize and be intentional with time and has a deep sense of gratitude for her mother teaching her never to take time for granted.

Raymond provided a philosophical look at failure, its meaning and how people make mistakes. He concluded that life offers opportunities no matter what happens and encouraged his peers to “get up, no matter what the trouble, because you have work to do.”

Jini shared many examples of how and why she hates change and finds comfort in familiarity. Although still somewhat afraid of the unknown, including the big change that’s coming when she departs for college, Jini has begun to try more new things including different foods.

Luca spoke about the importance of authenticity and being your real true self. While he acknowledged that it takes courage, Luca encouraged his peers to be honest about who they are as individuals and reminded everyone that the people who matter will accept them for who they are.

Bianca offered the four core values that have guided her to face life fearlessly: Joy and Happiness, Peace and Kindness, Faithfulness, Patience and Forgiveness, and most importantly, Love. She also noted that the world will be a better place if everyone embraces these values.
