Private Music Lesson Performers Dazzle at Winter Recital

Rudy Brandl '83

Twenty-eight students spanning all three divisions provided a delightful afternoon of entertainment at the Private Music Lesson Program Recital on January 31 in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Sharon Byrne, Performing Arts Department Chair, welcomed the guests during opening remarks that saluted the students for their commitment to music. She also spoke briefly about the school’s new Conservatory program and the opportunities it provides students interested in performance and production.

The program followed its usual progression with younger students performing first and running through the older performers in class order. Third-grader Kiara Vijay ’35 opened the show by singing Castle on a Cloud and senior Ishani Shah ’26 sang the finale with a wonderful rendition of Let You Break My Heart Again. Most of the recital featured vocals, but instrumental performances on saxophone, piano and flute provided variety.

Guests and performers enjoyed a reception in the PAC lobby following the recital.
