Middle School students provided more than 90 minutes of musical entertainment at last week’s Spring Concert in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Nine ensembles performed under the direction of Choir Director Sharon Byrne, Performing Arts Department Chair, and Band Director Rick Fontaine.
Highlights of the show included the traditional Irish folk song Shule Aroon performed by the Cantores, the Sixth Grade Choir’s Can You Hear Me?, the Wind Ensemble’s The Forge of Vulcan, the Chorale’s In My Life from John Lennon and Paul McCartney, the Vocal Ensemble’s Bringers of Noise, and the Jazz Band’s rendition of Duke Ellington’s C Jam Bluesthat featured student instrumental solos by Alyssa Ji ’27, Anna Bao ’27, Emily O’Neill ’27, Kimberly Zhang ’27, Sophia Fontaine ’26 and Richard Zhang ’26. The Combined Choirs closed the show with a positive message singing It’s All Rightfrom the movie Soul.
