Middle School Students Present Art Show

Rudy Brandl

Sixth, seventh and eighth grade students created a wonderful array of art to display at last week’s first in-person Middle School Art Show since 2019.

Miss Tanda Tucker’s students presented a variety of works, including Illuminate Letters, Zentangle Shadow Portraits, Quote 1/2 Portrait Paintings, Cubist Self-Portraits, Sonia Delaunay Prism Watercolors, Chagall Dreamscapes, Klimt Inspired Gilded Trees, Ribbon Drawings, Color Theory Abstractions, Capstone Accordion Books, Textured Sphere Drawings, and Sketchbook Drawings. Parents joined their students briefly before the concert and also after the show to peruse the amazing fine artwork.

“The art show this year would not have been possible without the help of Mrs. Barnett, Ms. Jafri, Mr. Martin, Ms. Brack, and especially Mrs. Rogers,” Miss Tucker said. “The students also played a much larger role this year. They helped glue, label, and hang up the majority of the work displayed. They did such a great job I may ask them to help on a yearly basis. The success of the art show just proves to me why our school community is so special; everyone came together to help, giving up free time (including recess) to make the show happen. I could not be more grateful and thankful to work in such a wonderful place.”
