The W+H Athletic Department honored the spring Middle School athletes and teams for a successful athletic season on May 27 in the Berry Performing Arts Center. The softball, boys’ tennis and co-ed track and field teams celebrated individual progress and team success with their peers and teachers in attendance.
Mike Romeo, Athletic Director, saluted the athletes for their perseverance and effort throughout the season. Track and field coaches Rick Riepl and Liz Stillman also shared remarks and highlights, while Mr. Romeo spoke on behalf of the softball and boys’ tennis teams. Four track athletes were recognized for setting school records this spring: Addison Terrell ’31, Jeremiah Simeonidis ’30, Shaina Patel ’30 and Logan Celentano ’30.
In addition, there were several outstanding eighth grade student-athletes who showed true commitment. Ten athletes were given award pins for competing in the same sport for three years throughout their Middle School careers: Alanna Augustin ’30, Sasha Buezo ’30, Lexington Donahue ’30, Tessa Gehl ’30, Kimaaya Golchha ’30, Sanaya Joshi ’30, Shaina Patel ’30, Jeremiah Simeonidis ’30, Jaxson Simeonidis ’30 and Michael Zhang ’30.
