W+H students enrolled in the Global Scholars Program visited the United Nations on Nov. 17. The students were accompanied by chaperones Mrs. Nicole Nolan (History Department Chair, Director of Global Programs and Community Outreach), Kevin Fette (Upper School History Teacher) and Amy Kate Byrne (Upper School English Teacher, English Department Chair).
Guided tours took the students to many different exhibits, including portraits of worldwide events, advancements in technology over time, memorial tributes such as World War II, and a display dedicated to women’s rights around the world. They viewed different exhibits pertaining to each UN sustainable goal, including No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, and Quality Education. The group also walked past a general counsel meeting where delegates were discussing the structure of the UN.
