The W+H girls’ golf team opened its 2021 season in style, winning the title at the Red Devil Classic with an impressive performance at Copper Hill Country Club in Flemington. The Rams rolled to the team title, posting a four-player score of 307, which ranked 33 strokes ahead of runner-up Montgomery.
All four W+H girls placed in the top seven, led by individual runners-up Jenelle Valera ’22 and Sarah Shao ‘24, who each shot a 4-over-par round of 76. Grace Lu ’22 was one shot back with a 77 that was tied for fifth, and Claire Lu ’24 fired a 78 that placed seventh.
Opening the season with four players breaking 80 in a tournament bodes well for the W+H girls, who have set their sights on more championships this spring.
