On Thursday, April 30, the fifth grade classes performed their highly anticipated Greek plays for their Kindergarten buddies! The 5th grade students made their performance choices from among multiple ancient Greek myths that they read in order to pick their favorite ones.
Over the course of six weeks, the students wrote their own scripts, blocked and rehearsed their plays, and gathered and created their props, costumes and set pieces. The students in Ms. Jaclyn Church’s class put on The 12 Labors of Heracles and the students in Mrs. Liz Stillman’s class performed The Trojan War.
Both plays were well executed and led to many outbursts of laughter, not just from the Kindergarten buddies but also from faculty and staff members who attended the plays. The students took pride in their performances and the opportunity to show off all their hard work!
