Right after the school year ended in June, Ms. Hua Liu, Director of China Studies, and Mr. Marc Spivak, Director of Technology and Campus Safety, traveled to Shenzhen, China, to explore new opportunities for educational collaboration and build strategic partnerships. Once a humble fishing village, Shenzhen has experienced extraordinary growth, emerging as a global hub for artificial intelligence, science and technology.
During their visit to Avenues Shenzhen, the educators gained valuable insight into the school’s innovative approach to teaching and learning. Their itinerary included tours of the primary and secondary campuses, a classroom visit and discussions with key school leaders, including Irene Zhang, Primary Division Associate Head; Corey Watlington, Deputy Head of School; Coral Liang, School Operations Head; and Ryan Baxter, Director of Academic Innovation and Pedagogy.
The visit provided an opportunity to exchange ideas, explore forward-thinking educational practices and identify potential avenues for collaboration, reinforcing Wardlaw+Hartridge’s commitment to global connections and innovative learning experiences.
