Emily Brogan '22 Earns Presidential Award

Emily Brogan ‘22, a rising junior at The Wardlaw+Hartridge School, recently received recognition and a letter from the White House commemorating her President’s Volunteer Service Award. 

The certificate Emily received commended her for a “commitment to strengthen our nation and communities through volunteer service.” The letter, signed by President Donald Trump, praised Emily as a role model who made a difference in the lives of others.

“Over the past year, you have served as a model of the American spirit. Your many hours of service have strengthened the bonds of cooperation and trust that bring people together, while helping to address some of the greatest challenges of our time.”

Emily, an active Girl Scout, has provided service in Buddy Ball by helping special needs children play sports, in the AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention) with suicide prevention activities including fundraising, walks and seminars, and as a sexual assault survivor hotline representative. She also tutors 

special needs students and is active in her Colonia community with tree lightings, Turkey Trots and area cleanup, while also assisting the local St. John Vianney parish with events including Lenten Soup Night and basketball games and practices. She also helps her mom, Maureen, with the W+H Ram Shop at her school.
