Dr. Corinna Crafton, Head of School, introduced the new Dalal Entrepreneurship and Technology Program (DETP) at this week’s Upper School Connections in the Oakwood Room. Her presentation outlined the program and how it will prepare students for college and career readiness.
Dr. Crafton began by showing a short video of Hartridge alumna Grace Hopper (Class of 1924), one of the school’s most prolific graduates, who represents the true spirit of pioneering thinking and entrepreneurship. She expressed her gratitude to the Dalal family for its philanthropic gift that made this innovative program possible. She also shared information about program requirements, eligibility and sample courses.
“This unique program of studies is designed to ignite innovation, creativity and real-world problem solving by empowering students with an entrepreneurial mindset and cutting-edge technology skills,” Dr. Crafton said. “Students keenly interested in STEM and business will find the DETP an exciting opportunity. The rapidly changing post-secondary and career landscapes demand a nuanced and strategic approach to ensuring our graduates are truly ready for what comes next.”
Current ninth graders are eligible to apply as the first cohort of DETP scholars and will enroll in the program for the 2026-2027 school year.
