  | WHPA Reveals Mini Grant Winners 5/7/2010
The Wardlaw-Hartridge Parents' Association (WHPA) Mini Grant application cycle is complete and the organization has announced the winners. The WHPA received 13 applications including projects from all three divisions and supporting math, music, multi-cultural and global education, history, language, art, reading and writing. Each application described a very interesting project or item for purchase and the selection process was difficult. The WHPA will provide a total of approximately $10,000 to the following winners:

Members of the Wardlaw-Hartridge Parents' Association (WHPA) were armed with valuable knowledge about preventing identity theft after learning from two guest speakers at the Hot Topics Forum on April 8. The presentation was organized by Terry Lyons, WHPA First Vice-President.

  | Shaken, Not Stirred Gala Was Exciting Success for WHPA! 3/2/2010
The Wardlaw-Hartridge Parents' Association held its annual Gala Dinner/Dance, "Shaken, Not Stiired," on Saturday, February 20 and it was a smashing success! The Stone House at Stirling Ridge was filled with a glamorous array of attending parents, trustees, faculty, staff, and guests. Thrilling auction items were up for bid and a delicious variety of food was enjoyed by all.
Congratulations to Gala Co-Chairpersons Peter Bessette and Yesenia Montague, as well as Valerie Raymonds, WHPA President, and all of the volunteers from The Wardlaw-Hartridge Parents' Association and the school community for making this highly-anticipated event such a delight!

  | International Family Fun Night Offered Array of Cultural Activities 1/9/2010
The Wardlaw-Hartridge Parents' Association held one of its most popular events on the evening of Friday, January 22: International Family Fun Night. The evening was organized by Bonnie Nolan, the mother of Jimmy '12 and Billy '13, as well as other WHPA members.

 | Yamaha Music Lab Demonstration Presented to WHPA, Donors 2/19/2010
On the morning of Thursday, February 17, donors who contributed to the purchase of the new Yamaha Music in Education (MIE) Lab were treated to a special demonstration by music teachers Jane Brown, Shannon Caldwell and Sharon Byrne. The presentation was preceded by a reception in the Admission Conference Room.

  | WHPA Mini Grant Enables Exciting Trout in the Classroom Project 1/22/2010
Last spring, Kathy Meier, Lower School science and technology teacher, received a $1,400 Mini Grant from The Wardlaw-Hartridge Parents' Association for equipment and supplies for the "Trout in the Classroom (TIC)" project. The program allows the Lower School students to raise trout from eggs, monitor water quality and study stream habits.

 Yamaha Keyboard Lab Will Benefit Students in All Three Divisions, Thanks to Parents' Association Mini Grant 1/19/2010
With some initial foundation gifts in place, the fundraising effort to complete a new music lab needed a jump start and a "Challenge Grant" from The Wardlaw-Hartridge Parents' Association Mini Grant Program was launched. The response from a select group of parents was terrific and the challenge was met. Thanks to all who participated and especially to the WHPA for its gift last spring which awarded $4,000 in matching funds toward the purchase of the Yamaha Music in Education (MIE) Keyboard Lab.

 Box Tops Sought by Parents' Association 10/13/2008
The Wardlaw-Hartridge Parents' Association collects Box Tops from General Mills products. Each box top is worth 10 cents and the collection of these box tops helps purchase materials for the school. Box tops should be mailed to the attention of Susan Howard, Lower School art teacher at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School, 1295 Inman Avenue, Edison, NJ 08820 or dropped off in Mrs. Howard's mailbox in the Faculty Lounge.
