Trustees Hosts Appreciation Dinner for Faculty/Staff; Retirees Honored

On the evening of Friday, May 22, the Wardlaw-Hartridge Board of Trustees held its Faculty/Staff Appreciation Dinner during which the board paid tribute to two special members of the school community - Margaret Hughes, custodian, and Ardys Sapchin, Lower School physical education teacher, coach and chairperson - who are retiring at the conclusion of the school year.

Corinna Crafton to Contibute Chapter to Book on African and African-American Literature

Corinna Crafton, Middle School English teacher, has been selected by Dr. Vivan Yenika-Agbaw, Associate Professor of Literacy/Children’s Literature at The Pennsylvania State University, to write a chapter for the edited book entitled, “African and African American Children’s and Adolescent Literature in the Classroom: A Critical Guide” with Peter Lang Publishing Group. The book will be released in May 2011.

Wardlaw-Hartridge Parents' Association Reveals Mini Grant Winners

The Wardlaw-Hartridge Parents' Association (WHPA)
 Mini Grant application cycle is complete and the organization has announced the winners. The WHPA received 13 applications including projects from all three divisions and supporting math, music, multi-cultural and global education, history, language, art, reading and writing. Each application described a very interesting project or item for purchase and the selection process was difficult. The WHPA will provide a total of approximately $10,000 to the following winners:
