Lower School Students Display Finest Work at Art Show

The Lower School Art Show was held on Friday, May 11. Mrs. Susan Howard, Lower School art teacher, matted and hung more than 450 pieces of artwork and displayed ceramic sculptures created by the prekindergarten through fifth grade students.

Parents, grandparents and friends visited the art room and were treated to a colorful display of fine artwork. The hall and the library also were filled with art. Pastel animals created by the fourth grade, self-portraits by the fifth grade, samplers by the third grade, Chinese calligraphy collages from the second grade, monsters from the first grade, and paintings of all types from our youngest children represented just some of the artwork included in the show.

Mrs. Howard said it was wonderful to see so many Wardlaw-Hartridge parents take a little time from their very busy schedules to enjoy the art created by our Lower School students.
